Officer Casey was killed in an on duty helicopter crash near the San Jose International Airport.

Deputy Sharra was killed in a traffic accident, while responding to an assistance request from another unit, near Lemoore, Ca.
Chino Police Department

Officer Miller was struck and killed by a drunk driver, while conducting a traffic stop in the early morning hours of February 1st.
San Francisco Police Department

Inspector Brookbush and Officer Dougherty were both killed in an on duty helicopter crash near Crows Landing, in Stanislaus County, Ca.
Los Angeles Police Department

Officer Villalobos was a 30 year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department. For the past 17 years with the elite S.W.A.T. Unit. On March 16th, he was training at the U.S.M.C. base in Camp Pendelton, Ca. with his team. Officer Villalobos slipped and fell from a 10 foot high catwalk and suffered severe head trauma. He died on March 18th, from the injuries he sustained in the fall.
Vallejo Police Department

Officer Azuar, a 21 year veteran of the Vallejo Police Department, was shot and killed on April 12, 2000. He and another Officer were searching a house for a warrant suspect. They found the suspect hiding in a closet. A struggle ensued and the suspect pulled a gun and shot Officer Azuar in the head. A third Officer shot and wounded the suspect who was climbing out of a second story bathroom window. The suspect was found to be high on methamphetamine at the time of the shooting.
Long Beach Police Department

Officer Black was a 6 1/2 year veteran of the Long Beach Police Department. He and his partner were working a gang suppression unit, on routine patrol when they were apparently ambushed. Officer Black died of his wounds in the early morning hours of April 29, 2000. His partner was also shot in the ambush, but survived his injuries.
Orange County Sheriff's Department
June 24, 2000
Deputy Parsons was a ten year veteran of the Orange County Sheriff's Department. He was the first Motor Officer assigned to the city of Laguna Hills. Deputy Parsons was involved in an on duty motorcycle accident on June 19th and ultimately died of injuries sustained in that accident on June 24th. The accident was caused by an elderly female driver that turned in front of Deputy Parson's motorcycle. She has not been charged or cited as of this time.
